Dr Tena Prelec and Dr David Lewis join panel on ‘Ukraine and Croatia: Navigating (Post)-War Hopes and Challenges’ organised by Univeristy of Rijeka’s CAS SEE and IDM Vienna
On 13 December, Dr Tena Prelec (University of Rijeka) and Dr Peter Techet (IDM Vienna) moderated an online panel on ‘Ukraine and Croatia: Navigating (Post)-War Hopes and Challenges.’
Speakers included Professor David Lewis (University of Exeter), Dr Iva Vukušić (University of Utrecht), Dr Senada Šelo Šabić (Institute for Development and International Relations – IRMO, Zagreb), Dr Oleksandr Moskalenko (CAS SEE, University of Rijeka / National Scientific Centre, Bokarius Forensic Science Institute, Kharkiv) and Dr Vanni D'Alessio (University of Naples ‘Federico II’).
The panel explored how Croatian politics, society, and economy have changed during and after the war, as well as how Croatia and other neighbouring countries have addressed the challenges of the post-war period, including addressing war crimes, dealing with EU integration, memory politics, and historical debates.
The event was organised by the Univeristy of Rijeka’s CAS SEE in collaboration with the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM Vienna), which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.
