SOC ACE hosts workshop at the 2023 Annual CRS Conference
On Monday, September 11th, the Serious Organised Crime Anti-Corruption Evidence (SOC ACE) research programme hosted a workshop at the Conflict Research Society Annual Conference. The event brought together experts from academia, policymaking, civil society, and the private sector to discuss the intersection of illicit finance, organised crime, and armed conflict, with a particular focus on Russia's war in Ukraine.
The workshop highlighted recent research from the SOC-ACE programme, shedding light on new data and methodological gaps, and exploring opportunities for future investigations. Participants examined the strategic and policy implications of this research and charted a new research agenda. Key topics included the economic and criminal dimensions of the Russian invasion, with an emphasis on corruption and economic crime.
