SOC ACE to join panel at IACC Conference on ‘Combatting Modern Kleptocracy: Assessing the Impact of Two Years of Sanctions on Russia’

SOC ACE attends #IACC2024

We’re thrilled to announce our attendance at the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) in Vilnius next week. This will be a vital platform for discussions on combating global corruption and kleptocracy.

We’re particularly excited about contributing to a timely panel discussion hosted by our partners at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI). The panel, titled "Combatting Modern Kleptocracy: Assessing the Impact of Two Years of Sanctions on Russia," will delve into the effectiveness of recent sanctions and their implications for combating kleptocracy.

Confirmed guests on the panel include:

  • SOC ACE Director Professor Heather Marquette

  • Tom Keatinge, Director, Centre for Finance & Security at RUSI

  • Oksana Ihnatenko, Researcher, Centre for Finance & Security at RUSI

  • Kinga Redlowska

  • Zoe Reiter, Director, Combatting Kleptocracy, National Endowment for Democracy

The session is organised in collaboration with the National Endowment for Democracy, the Basel Institute on Governance, and hosted by the Centre for Finance and Security (CFS) at RUSI. We’re eager to engage with fellow experts and attendees on these critical issues and explore actionable strategies to tackle modern kleptocracy.

A follow up post on our takeaways from the conference and our workshop will be made available after the conference.

The panel takes place on Thursday 20 June, at 14:30-16:00 (Europe/Vilnius), at the IACC Conference in Vilnius. Registration for the IACC conference is required for sign-up.
