Two new articles from the GI-TOC team researching , ‘Power Brokers and Illicit Markets in the Frontiers: Balochistan, Borderlands and the Taliban’
Paddy Ginn and Maria Khoruk of GI-TOC and part of the team undertaking SOC ACE supported research into, ‘Power Brokers and Illicit Markets in the Frontiers: Balochistan, Borderlands and the Taliban’, have published two new GI-TOC Analysis Articles, under the project. Paddy explores the risks of large-scale diversion of weapons and ammunition into illicit markets emanating from the Taliban’s 2021 takeover, whilst Maria takes stock of the real impact the Taliban’s 2022 ban on poppy cultivation is having on Afghanistan’s illicit drug economy.
